Knowing What to Write – What Is Off Limits

Creating, maintaining, and generating ideas for a blog was never something I thought I would aspire to do. As a writer I write a lot in journals, little books stashed in drawers all over the place. One day I guess my kids will find and read them. Will they be shocked, happy, sad, embarrassed, or any other emotion that is relevant to words/scratches I left on a page?

A blog is different. Blogs are longer than the average journal page, longer than a social media post. Similar to a social media post, my blog is public, those who come to this site get a view into what those journal pages may hold. What then do I write? Do I hide things, is any topic off limits when you advocate for honesty and transparency?

The only topics I believe are off topics are those that aren’t true or set out to harm others. If I want to tell stories I could write a book, or long epic poems. Healing isn’t about harming others, it is about seeking the truth and moving forward with hope for a bright future. Some topics may seem mundane, even naive, and that is okay. Healing is learning, creating this blog is healing and learning. A relationship that is seemingly dependent.

Writing is my refuge when times are dark. Writing brings light and hope when I feel that the dark is suffocating me. When the nightmares come back, putting them down helps ease the pain. It also helps the lies hidden in my sleep. I can analyze the thoughts, review stress and external factors that could be affecting me. Writing is the medication for which I don’t need a prescription.

As my page grows so will my blogs, my topics, today the topics are almost limitless (see above). If you have thoughts or topics, you would like to share or get my views please feel free to contact me.

Blogging on – Flying high – learning to ride with the wind with words.
